APTUK President nominations

APTUK is seeking nominations from pharmacy technician members with the drive, ambition and commitment to lead the Association and deliver our strategy - Leading and supporting a recognised and valued pharmacy technician profession.

Due to the current President’s term of office coming to an end in February 2024, nominations are encouraged and welcomed for the next President of APTUK. 

The President is a Director of APTUK and is the lead ambassador for the organisation.  They are responsible for providing strategic professional leadership by working with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other stakeholders to establish long term goals, strategies, annual business plan and policies. 

The role of the President bears significant responsibility, accountability, and authority within the organisation to ensure plans are developed and implemented and is a key representative for the pharmacy technician profession.

The nomination period is open until midnight on Thursday 30th November 2023.   ​

More details of the nomination process 

Nominees for APTUK President must be supported by a primary nominator and a seconder. All parties must be paid up subscription members (Full members, Early Careers members or Fellows of the Association). Nominations should be made via the online form here: APTUK President Nomination Form 

To be eligible, the nominee must:

  1. Be a full and paid subscription member of APTUK on the database at the time of the nomination process.
  2. Be a registered pharmacy technician with GPhC or be a pharmacy technician working in Northern Ireland who meets the requirements for registration with the GPhC.
  3. Complete a nomination form along with two paid up subscription members, as listed above, who are supporting the nomination.
  4. Submit a nominee statement.
  5. Email a copy of their current CV to operations@aptuk.org.
  6. Receive a satisfactory reference.

Nominations received by midnight on Thursday 30th November will be validated against meeting the criteria for nomination and reviewed by the Board of Directors. Should a single nomination be received, this nominee will be appointed President. Where more than one nomination is received, a ballot (conducted by independent scrutinisers and coordinated by the Operations Lead) will be held to determine the final result.

Only full and paid-up subscription members and full and paid-up Fellows on the database at the time are entitled to vote in the event of a ballot and they will be informed of the decisions/outcomes at the conclusion of the process.
